Massage therapy has several therapeutic benefits which make it a great compliment to Chiropractic care. A massage therapist is trained to assess and treat most soft tissues of the human body including muscles, tendons, ligaments and connective tissue. Treatment is designed to physically stretch muscles, reduce muscle spasm, break down scar tissue and increase joint range of motion by encouraging proper muscle function.
Massage therapy also causes both an increase in blood circulation and an increase in lymphatic fluid circulation. Effective blood circulation can reduce swelling, increase the rate of healing, and facilitate better overall health and body function. Since the lymphatic system is essentially the immune system, increasing its circulation can increase the effectiveness of the immune response against pathogens and injury.
Massage therapy is also known to reduce emotional stresses through a decrease in muscle tension, and through the power of human touch.
Your initial massage therapy visit will include an intake form about your health history, a physical assessment and a treatment. A one hour appointment is neccessary for your first visit, after which you may select a one hour, forty-five minute or thirty minute massage. Following your initial treatment, your massage therapist will make recommendations regarding your future care needs.

Acupuncture is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) practice developed over thousands of years. It is an effective holistic health care system that can both resolve symptoms and enhance overall health.
In TCM it is believed that health is achieved when the body’s natural energy, called Qi (pronounced “Chee”) is in balance and flowing smoothly throughout the body. If there is any imbalance or blockages of Qi, then disease and pain results.
Qi flows though the body following specific patterns called meridians. Along these lines there are certain areas where the Qi concentrates close to the surface which are known as the acupuncture points. An acupuncturist can stimulate these points to help the body regain balance and heal itself.
Modern acupuncturists may also use points outside of the meridians that correspond to nerves, muscles, or trigger points.
Acupuncture is not an instant fix. Depending on your current health and symptoms, you could feel better right away, or you may need frequent treatments to achieve the results you want.

Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on therapy, suitable for all ages. The goal is to facilitate health and optimize systemic function using the various hands-on techniques for the musculoskeletal system and other associated conditions that arise due to dysfunction through the body.

Naturopathic Medicine combines modern science with traditional therapies to prevent illness and address its root causes. Often called functional or integrative medicine, it focuses on natural healing as an alternative adjuvant to conventional care.

Licensed Naturopathic Doctors (NDs) are highly trained primary care practitioners who diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions. Becoming an ND requires a Bachelor’s degree, a four-year doctoral program, clinical residency, board exams, and ongoing education.

NDs prioritize whole-person health and long-term wellness. They evaluate your health history, symptoms, and lab results, often recommending tests to create personalized care plans. Treatments may include botanical medicine, supplements, nutrition, acupuncture, bodywork, and other evidence-based therapies. Behind the scenes, NDs devote significant time to researching the latest scientific advancements to ensure you receive the most effective care possible.

By working with an ND to address health concerns, you take charge of your well-being, which means embarking on a journey that often requires time and commitment to achieve sustainable, lasting results.
